Statistics: Russia’s GDP falls 3.8% on year October–December 2015
MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- The annual contraction of Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 3.8% in October–December 2015, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement Friday.
The service also confirmed its previous estimation of the country’s GDP falling 3.7% in the whole 2015.
In October–December 2015, Russia’s agriculture increased 5.6%; the mineral resource extraction sector went up 1.4%; output of households increased 1.4%; and transport and communications grew 0.7%, the service said.
But wholesale and retail trade plunged 13.6% in the quarter, and output of processing companies decreased by 6.2%; of financial companies by 6%; of construction companies by 4.6%; and of companies engaged in production of power, gas and water by 3.4%, the service said.
